I spent some time on "Free Technology for Teachers" blog, https://www.freetech4teachers.com/, and ran into some really cool ideas for teachers. First off I like how when you log onto the blog it is outlined with the most recent post at the top and then the top posts of the week after that. One of the resources that I thought was neat was on how to utilize cardboard boxes within the classroom (https://www.freetech4teachers.com/2021/03/a-fun-and-educational-use-of-cardboard.html). I teach science so this is something that I could see my students getting into. Richard Byrne also blogs about resources teachers can use to enhance their technology within the classroom with easy to follow videos. One of the videos I enjoyed was about how to add free hand drawing to google slides (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4R3kPpTgys). This would help in adding free hand diagrams and info easily into the science presentations we prepare for students.
I believe that I could create a blog that would be a beneficial resource for my students. I could see myself using the blog to walk them through how to use the devices available to them through their Chromebooks. I could make tutorials for google classroom as well as how to access their online text book. I could also easily use a blog to talk about the topics I am currently teaching them for them to use as mini reviews. I could make lab demos for them and talk about the science of everyday life as it applies to the content we are working on in class so that they can make the real world connections. This is something that I might look into adding to my classroom next year as an extra level of support and differentiation for my students!
