Final Reflection

A) I learned a lot from this course. I learned not to be afraid of using multimedia in my classroom to enhance my teaching. I feel like I met the ISTE goal of being a knowledge constructor because I used many tech resources to produce creative artifacts. I also became a global collaborator by joining the Twitter scene and being an active participant. B) One of the most useful tools I found was Screencastify. I believe this because it is an easy google extension to use. It also is a great user friendly way to record tutorials of how to navigate through a website or digital app. I plan on in the future using this tool to create tutorials of google classroom, our online textbook, and many other apps our district uses for both the parents and students to use to know how to better use the technology the district is giving them to guide their education. Blog Post Review

I spent some time on "Free Technology for Teachers" blog, https://www.freetech4teachers.com/, and ran into some really cool ideas for teachers. First off I like how when you log onto the blog it is outlined with the most recent post at the top and then the top posts of the week after that. One of the resources that I thought was neat was on how to utilize cardboard boxes within the classroom (https://www.freetech4teachers.com/2021/03/a-fun-and-educational-use-of-cardboard.html). I teach science so this is something that I could see my students getting into. Richard Byrne also blogs about resources teachers can use to enhance their technology within the classroom with easy to follow videos. One of the videos I enjoyed was about how to add free hand drawing to google slides (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4R3kPpTgys). This would help in adding free hand diagrams and info easily into the science presentations we prepare for students.  I believe that I could create a blog ...

Screencastify

Screencastify is something I could easily incorporate into my daily lessons. Currently I could use it to post examples of our chemistry equations that students are struggling with. The short tutorials would allow them to go back and view an example as they practice on their own outside of class. These short clips would be easy to upload to their google classroom pages as references to use!  Find it on Youtube: https://youtu.be/49-6hGgIHqk
